It's
simple.
We all want to live healthy, active happy lives for
a long time. And, of course, we want the same for
our pets. We can achieve this for ourselves by eating
a healthy diet, exercising and minimizing the effects
of stress on our lives. It is much the same for our
pets. They need a diet consisting of wholesome, all-natural
foods and treats, a daily walk or chase of the frisbee,
and training to understand and accept their role in
your family.
At
Nature’s Select of Columbus, we try to do our
part by providing your pet with our all-natural Nature's
Select Pet Foods and products. We don't use chemicals
to preserve our products. We don't use cheap fillers
or by-products. We don't use artificial colors or
flavors to make our food taste good.
What
we do use are hormone-free meats - the same you or
I would eat. We use whole ground rice and flaxseed
that are nutrient-rich. We use Vitamins C and E and
rosemary extract to naturally preserve our products.
We also use complete and easily-absorbed vitamins
& minerals. Take a look at our products
and information.
Why
natural? Because with Nature’s Select of Columbus,
it's simple.
Are
you concerned about what your pet is eating?
If so, study the labels on the foods that you are
currently feeding your pet. See for yourself the
difference between our pet food and the leading
national brands. On food labels, ingredients are listed
in order of their volume percentages. For example
if Soybean is the first ingredient listed on the label,
then Soybean is the major ingredient in your pet's
food. Listed below are some ingredients we would like
to bring to your attention.
Bad
ingredients to look for:
Corn - A cheap filler that is
very common in pet food. It's as difficult for dogs
to digest as it is for you and I. It heats up the
digestive system and is known to cause hot spots,
skin conditions and excessive waste.
Chicken/Animal
By-Products - A cheap protein source. By-products
can include everything from the beak to the feet and
feathers of the chicken, as well as all the other
parts of an animal carcass besides meat such as bones,
blood, intestines, ligaments, etc.
Soybean
- A cheaper protein source than meat with little nutritional
value for your dog.
Animal
Fat - Can be fat from any walking mammals,
including dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, etc.
Poultry
Digest - A chicken meal substitute an inexpensive
protein source that includes the vital organs/materials
other than meat.
Chemical
Preservatives - Ethoxyquin, BHT and BHA are
the most common chemicals used today. All have been
identified as possible cancer-causing agents in dogs.
Fillers
- These are ingredients such as feathers, soy, cotton
hulls, corn cobs, peanut hulls, citrus pulp, screenings,
weeds, straw and cereal by-products. Food company's
claim these ingredients to be all-natural, and technically
they are. The down fall is that your pet gets NO nutritional
value from these fillers, and it creates more work
for the “pooper-scooper”.
Good
ingredients to look for:
Chicken Meal - Whole
ground chicken meat; a highly digestible protein source
for strong muscles & bones.
Rice
- Whole grain rice; excellent source of carbohydrates
for energy & regularity.
Flaxseed
- A source of Omega 3 Fatty acids for healthy skin
& coat and a strong immune system. |
